On October 28th, the ACCESS Academy 8th grade Leadership class created an interactive work of art with the 2014 Haunted Classroom, an October tradition for ACCESS Academy. This year, Mr. Lanners' leadership class provided thrills and chills with a "tour" of the innocent-sounding, LIVE Laboratories, whose motto, "Life's Innocence Vanquishes Evil," belies the sinister plans it has for those brave (or foolish) enough to enter. And "LIVE," backwards, spells, well, hold your screen up to a mirror to find out. For students or adults whose constitution faltered upon hearing the screams coming through the door, they could skip the tour and go directly to the nearby hallway carnival to play spooky games, hosted by the rest of the 8th grade class. Just how scary was the tour of Live Laboratories? "It was really freaky," said one third grader upon completing the tour, "and AWESOME. I want to go through again! When is the next one?" The 2015 Haunted Classroom date may be a mystery for now, but one thing is certain: for fun and scares, this year's 8th grade class has set the bar very high.
